In the craziness and chaos that I call my life, there are moments when I am able to sneak away for some much needed space and time to refocus my life and rejuvenate. Crafting does that to a certain extent and running even more so….however, spending time in the mountains with my husband is one of the only ways I know of that I can truly get away.
The month of September is one of my favorite times to go camping because it also happens to be archery season. I love the thrill of the hunt even when the result is that we got to check out some new hiking areas. Even though some places are new, I still have my favorites and last Saturday we spent the morning in one of them.
This place is know as ” The Burn”…named because of a fire that occurred there some 15-20 years ago.
I love this place on so many levels…it is quiet, peaceful and home to many, many, old, dead trees.
For reasons I cannot explain, I am fascinated with dead trees. Quite simply, they are beautiful to me. They have stories to tell…if you are willing to listen so, while I didn’t get much done with cleaning out my storage unit, or organizing my clutter at home, I did get to spend some time hunting with my hubby. I also got to spend hours listening to the trees and what they had to say to me was….. amazing.
One Day and Counting….trees that touch my heart.
